In-kind giving opportunities

Goodwill/Easter Seals-Minnesota is a diverse organization and various in-kind gifts make an impact in a variety of ways. Here’s a sampling of ways to make a difference through in-kind gifts:

  • Products, prizes, food or services given for a fundraising event reduce costs.
  • The skills training programs require specialized equipment and tools to stay abreast of the most recent technological changes in the automotive, banking, construction, finance, forklift and retail industries.
  • Support our efforts to provide work experience and funding for services by donating overstocks and unsold new retail products to our stores.
  • Provide space to be used for skills training and employment services in one of your buildings.

In-kind donation improves Skills Training Program

Saturn of St. Paul Saturn service manager John Frantz saw a way to improve Goodwill/Easter Seals’ Automotive Skills Training program and decided to donate a cut-away car. The Saturn L300 model is cut through various parts to ensure precise references and mechanical understanding. Participants can see what a part looks like and how it works.

In addition, Saturn employee Jim Goserud, who used to owned an automotive repair shop in the Twin Cities, decided his Engine Diagnostic Analyzer would come in handy to teach participants; so he donated the diagnostic tool, which detects a variety of engine problems, to the Automotive Skills Training program with about 100 service manuals.

“I thought that the Engine Diagnostic Analyzer would have value for training,” says Goserud. Saturn of St. Paul also hires graduates of Goodwill/Easter Seals Automotive Skills Training program. Learn more about hiring partnerships.
