Wondering what to do for Halloween this year? Putting a costume together can actually be an easy feat if you’re a believer in accessory magic. Do you have a pair of jeans and a puffy shirt in your closet? Well, we’re off to a good start. You can achieve creative costumes out of clothes you’ve had for ages, with the addition of a few special items from Goodwill. Halloween just became easy.
First, accessorize your jeans and shirt to achieve the Flower Child look. All you need to do is add a frayed vest, flowers for your hair, a pair of old school shades, and whatever jewelry you’d like. You don’t even need to wave to peace sign around – everyone will get it – but we encourage you to anyway.
Next, pair the jeans and shirt with some scarves and jewelry to get the Gypsy look. Tie the scarves around your waist so they look like a flowing skirt. Then, tie a scarf around your head and add some jewelry and to achieve the look complete.
Lastly, accessorize the jeans and shirt with scarves, an eye patch, and props to achieve the Pirate look. Wrap a scarf around your waist and slap on an eye patch for starters. Next, finding a pirate hat is a good idea, and most Goodwill stores have them too, so you’re in luck! Top it off with a sword and you’ve mastered the costume. Peg legs optional.
And there you have it! Three great costumes made from merely accessorizing clothing you already had. Halloween costumes are as easy as 1-2-3!
