Goodwill Week is one of our favorites at Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota!
It’s a great way to celebrate the Power of Work (learn more here), and one major barrier to work is good hygiene.
Hygiene isn’t a problem most people think about, but it can be an important one to solve. If you can’t afford basic hygiene products, it’s tough to get a job.
We decided to remove that barrier this year, and scheduled a hygiene kit assembly line.
These kits had everything from shampoo and razors to deodorant and toothpaste, and much more!
In the end we created 364 total kits! One hundred fifty of those were for our participants: Sixty for men, sixty for women, and thirty that were gender neutral.
Two hundred fourteen of those kits were created for local homeless shelters.
Thanks to our staff in St. Paul, Brooklyn Park, and at our Gina+Will store for creating these!
