Goodwill-Easter Seals is looking for volunteer mentors!

Looking for a way to give back to someone who needs extra support? You can make a difference in someone’s life by becoming a volunteer mentor! As part of our mission to eliminate barriers to work and independence, Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to share their time and talent as a volunteer mentor.

What does a volunteer mentor do?

Mentors assist adult participants in our programs, including:

  • Automotive and Construction Training
  • ReEntry serves individuals with criminal backgrounds.
  • Ramsey County Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP), which serves families receiving county assistance.

We offer one-on-one and group mentoring options during daytime and evening hours. Volunteer mentors and participant mentees may attend group mentoring, which occurs weekly at four different sites in St. Paul and East St. Paul. Financial literacy, overcoming barriers, parenting and other topics chosen by participants are discussed in group mentoring meetings. Mentors and mentees may also be matched individually and will work together for six to nine months on specific goals, such as securing employment, healthy relationships and/or money management.

Who can be a volunteer mentor?

We are looking for volunteers who want to give back and be part of our community. Volunteers don’t need any special skills other than the desire to support people working towards their goals and independence.
