Navigating seasonal fashion trends can be daunting. We get lost in the chaos of what works for our body, lifestyle and budget. The funny thing is that it doesn’t have to be so overwhelming – we don’t have to overthink it. I’ve got a list of the top three, basic things you should have for spring. Guess what! They work for every body shape, every lifestyle, and every budget!
All of these looks were found, styled and purchased at the Goodwill in Chanhassen! And these pieces will make the rest of your wardrobe rock this season.
The navy blazer
Keep it simple and structured. It should be cotton and hit just above the hips. This jacket is your go-to layer when dressing up a top. Remember, navy – not black – which can be too dark and heavy when worn in spring and summer.
The long necklace
The ideal necklace will hit at or below the bust. It can be neutral or full of color and worn with anything. We love to wear a lot of sleeveless and/or loose fitting tops in warm temps but – they can easily look sloppy and un-styled. Accessorize with a necklace and you’ll feel polished and put-together.
Navy stripes have transcended from being a trend to being a staple in every woman’s wardrobe. The myth has been dispelled – you can wear horizontal stripes! This pattern is fun to accessorize with scarves and bright colors. It’s also an easy piece to transition for fall by taking that navy blazer you got for spring (wink, wink) and adding skinny jeans and a great pair of tan flats!
And now you’re set for spring and summer!
