Cool and comfy in over-sized shirts

I grew up in a family of seven. We’re all adults now (based only on age), and live in different places all over the country. We each have our own families and are close as ever. Which is why I’m thrilled that we are going on a family vacation in a few weeks.

Of course, once our parents booked the cabins, I immediately ran to Second Début to find clothes for the trip. Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t plan on wearing makeup or doing my hair all week, but I still want to look chic. And I also want to be extra comfortable because I am sure there will be plenty of food eating and drink drinking. So I need loose and easy fashionable pieces. Over-sized shirt it is.

I bought this fabulous Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent top at Second Debut. It works in so many ways. I’ve worn it in the winter with skinny jeans and knee-high boots, and in the fall with faux-leather leggings and booties. But this summer, I plan on wearing it as a swimsuit cover-up at the cabin. Add a big floppy hat (bought at Goodwill), and some chic sandals, and you’re set for whatever summer brings your way!

If you’re not in the mood for a longer tunic, there are still some great options for over-sized tanks this summer. This floral number was purchased at Goodwill for a few dollars. I love it with skinny jeans and sandals, but think it will also be fabulous with a pencil skirt and strappy sandals for a night on the town. I can even see it at work with skinny black trousers and a chic blazer. But let’s think more about summer…how about Bermuda shorts and flat sandals for that perfect effortlessly chic outfit? You have many options when it comes to styling an over-sized tank.
