Warm fires, apple picking, hot chocolate, fall leaves: We’re closing in on fall. This is the time of year we start decorating a little bit differently as we get ready for colder temperatures. It’s also when we start our Fall Decor Face-Off, which highlights some of the great fall decor you can find at your local Goodwill.
In order to set up this contest we needed eight photos of great fall decor finds from around the Twin Cities metro area and beyond, and that gave us the great opportunity to see what’s really out there.
One of our favorite fall decor items was hard to photograph, but it’s a powered, light-up, fall wreath. This was at our St. Paul Goodwill Store, but you’ll find them at many Goodwill stores around the metro area.
Another great find? A propane-fueled firepit at our Woodbury store. Who can’t picture hanging out around a warm fire with a sweatshirt and some blankets on (maybe sipping some warm cider or hot chocolate)? An added benefit? No lingering smoke smell on your clothes.
It doesn’t have to be a firepit or an electric wreath that sparks your fall decor fancy. It could just be something simple. Maybe it’s a leaf candle holder, or a bag of decorative fall leaves you can spread around.
Another option would be decorative, and seasonal, candy holders. This one below is just one example, but you can find anything from the cheesy to ornate.
Finally, candy. It’s not quite Halloween yet, but it’s always fun to have some fall-themed candy around. Eillien’s candy is a great option you’ll find at our stores this year, and their harvest mix is perfect for the season.
Make sure you think of Goodwill as you plan your fall decorating. Not only are you diverting items from the landfill at an affordable price, you’re also helping support our programs and services. It’s a fall decor win-win!
