A cornucopia of fall decor at Goodwill

Warm fires, apple picking, hot chocolate, fall leaves: We’re closing in on fall. This is the time of year we start decorating a little bit differently as we get ready for colder temperatures. It’s also when we start our Fall Decor Face-Off (click here to enter), which highlights some of the great fall decor you can find at your local Goodwill.

In order to set up this contest we needed eight photos of great fall decor finds from around the Twin Cities metro area and beyond, and that gave us the great opportunity to see what’s really out there.

Light-up fall garlands and wreaths can be found at many Goodwill locations this year – this was found at our St. Paul Goodwill.

One of our favorite fall decor items was hard to photograph, but it’s a powered, light-up, fall wreath. This was at our St. Paul Goodwill Store, but you’ll find them at many Goodwill stores around the metro area.

Another great find? A propane-fueled firepit at our Woodbury store. Who can’t picture hanging out around a warm fire with a sweatshirt and some blankets on (maybe sipping some warm cider or hot chocolate)? An added benefit? No lingering smoke smell on your clothes.

This firepit has the potential to keep people warm and cozy while fall temperatures drop. It was found at our Woodbury Goodwill store.

It doesn’t have to be a firepit or an electric wreath that sparks your fall decor fancy. It could just be something simple. Maybe it’s a leaf candle holder, or a bag of decorative fall leaves you can spread around.

Spread some fall cheer – or fall leaves. You could use leaves from outside or use these!

Another option would be decorative, and seasonal, candy holders. This one below is just one example, but you can find anything from the cheesy to ornate.

This candy dish/serving bowl for Thanksgiving might not be formal, but it sure is fun! It was found at our Roseville Goodwill on County Road B.
Fall candy can be found at our stores around Minnesota this year!

Finally, candy. It’s not quite Halloween yet, but it’s always fun to have some fall-themed candy around. Eillien’s candy is a great option you’ll find at our stores this year, and their harvest mix is perfect for the season.

Make sure you think of Goodwill as you plan your fall decorating. Not only are you diverting items from the landfill at an affordable price, you’re also helping support our programs and services. It’s a fall decor win-win!
