FAST 2 focuses on racial disparities
Building on the success of our innovative Families Achieving Success Today (FAST) pilot program that produced increased employment and earnings for participants, FAST 2 focuses on African American and American Indian families receiving Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) aid and having at least one family member with a disability.
The comprehensive, family-centered philosophy cultivates the job seeker’s capabilities, interests and strengths through holistic case management, coaching, mental health services, culturally specific activities and educational career pathways – services we could not provide without the support of our many corporate partners, donors and supporters. FAST 2 will operate out of the Goodwill-Easter Seals office in the Griggs Midway Building in St. Paul.
Partner agencies involved in the collaboration include: Ramsey County Workforce Solutions, Ramsey County Community Human Services, Ramsey County Children’s Mental Health, Open Cities Health Center, Network for the Development of Children of African Descent, YWCA of St. Paul, Mary K. Boyd – African American Community Consultant, and the American Indian Family Center.
