Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota is always on the lookout for ways to reduce our impact on the environment, from building green stores that meet strict Energy Star standards, to donating and recycling items that don’t sell. That’s why starting June 1, 2017, Goodwill stores will offer reused bags and boxes at checkout in place of new plastic bags.

Repurposing the containers you bring donations in started as an experiment at Goodwill Outlet locations, and now it’s being rolled out to all our 45+ stores. Americans throw away 100 billion plastic shopping bags per year, and by removing new plastic bags from our checkout line, we’re doing our part to chip away at that staggering statistic.

Have unused bags and boxes piling up at home? We'll gladly accept them for reuse. Just give them to the cashier next time you shop.
