Layer with leather and make a statement
Leather has been and is one of the biggest fall trends. Outerwear attracts the eye, making leather jackets an official go-to piece for every fashionista. And while leather jackets may be soft and shiny, they also give off the Wonder Woman vibe. Call me crazy for saying that an article of clothing can be empowering – but you never know until you’ve tried.
I created three different looks featuring various leather jackets I was able to find at the St. Louis Park Second Début location. Saving money on a leather jacket is a silly idea … said no one ever.
This year it’s not just leather that’s everywhere, it’s suede as well. And the coolest thing about suede jackets is fringe. Whether you are channeling your inner hippie or just fitting in with the boho trend, a suede jacket looks great with jeans, skirts, dresses, and even shorts. And what can be better than fringe? More fringe! Wear a light fringed vest underneath for those perfect twirling moments and shots for your Instagram account.
When an all leather jacket is too much, go for a sportier, more casual option like a leather jacket with fabric sleeves. This combination of fabric and leather gives this piece more of a bomber jacket style look and feel. Paired with a dress and platform sneakers, it also gives off the 90’s vibe, which is one of the most popular trends not just this fall, but … well … kind of always.
And finally, a little tribute to MJ in this outfit – the red leather jacket is incredible, a true statement piece for any season. I paired it with grey trousers, a white shirt and a Kenneth Cole bag, so you can rock leather to the office.
Whether you are a devoted leather wearer, a first timer looking for a new statement this fall, or a back to school style guru, these leather looks will give you instant street credit and Insta credit as well!
