Meet Marsala – 2015 Pantone Color of the Year
The 2015 Pantone color of the year is Marsala. It’s a gorgeously deep, rich, red hue. I honestly can’t get enough. It screams sophistication, glamour, and elegance. There are so many ways to wear it. You can pop it in here and there with just the right accessories or go head-to-toe in the color. I’m going to show you two ways to style it – one casual and one dressy.
This gorgeous Marsala Nanette Lepore tweed jacket with black trim makes the perfect statement piece to create a casual look from. It’s a killer find from Second Début! I paired it with a polka dotted shirt with a peter pan collar. This plays up the sophisticated vibe, which contrasts nicely with the cuffed distressed jeans and cognac leather ankle boots. The lime of the envelope adds a springy vibe to the ensemble.
This outfit is ready for the office with its classic, professional vibe. But there’s always a twist. The main one being the trendy Marsala hue. It’s the shining star of this look against the neutral backdrop of the skirt, jacket, and accessories. One of my favorite other twists is the scalloped detailing on the jacket. It’s a feminine, elegant touch. The whole look is so chic!
Both of the Marsala pieces and the scalloped black jacket were found at Second Début. They have so many fabulous new spring pieces out right now. And the designer section is absolutely loaded with incredible finds. Make sure to get over there soon, you won’t be disappointed. Happy shopping!
