National Voter Registration Day: September 27, 2016
Have you registered to vote? Have you moved or changed your name since the last election?
Voting is one of the most important things we can do as citizens. However, many of us don’t use this basic right and instead sit on the sidelines during elections. This year, voters in Minnesota will elect their U.S. House representatives, all state representatives and senators, many local and county officials, vote on a state constitutional amendment – and elect the next U.S. President.
That’s why National Voter Registration Day – September 27 – is an opportunity. An opportunity to connect with the people we serve and encourage them to participate in their civic duty. An opportunity to provide staff and volunteers with nonpartisan information so that they can be better informed voters. An opportunity to inspire full engagement in our political process.
National Voter Registration Day is the largest one-day effort of the year to register voters. Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota is excited to once again be part of a national effort to strengthen our community by registering voters on National Voter Registration Day (www.NationalVoterRegistrationDay.org) .
It’s not just important, but it’s also fun and you can join us! Stop by for “Selfies with the Presidents”, treats and information on September 27 at our nonpartisan voter registration event:
