A Night to Remember for the Next 100 Years!

On Dec. 10, 2019 Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota (GESMN) celebrated its 100th birthday! And, what would a birthday be without a party?

It was an evening to remember with guests from local community members, current and former staff, participants we have served, elected officials, employer partners and board members.

Guests enjoyed remarks from GESMN President and CEO Michael Wirth-Davis, who presented a proclamation from Governor Tim Walz which named Dec. 10, 2019 as Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota Day.

Senator Tina Smith was not able to be in attendance but sent her well wishes in a video message. Attendees also heard from a few participants who have been served by GESMN in the past 100 years.

In addition to the brief program, guests were able to take a walk through the last century with a display of artifacts from the entire history of GESMN including news clippings, outfits, photos and more. While they walked and learned about the rich history of the 100-year-old organization, they enjoyed bites by local social enterprise caterer, Breaking Bread.

Thank you to all who joined us, and all who continue to support our mission to eliminate barriers to work and independence. Here’s to the next 100 years!
