Celebrating the Power of Work

A note from the president.

As I write this we are days away from our 10th annual Power of Work Fundraiser on Thursday, May 12.

We enjoy putting together the celebration each year, but it’s also something we take very seriously. It’s an event that honors the 21,000 program participants we helped to overcome barriers to employment and independence in 2015.

One of the most difficult tasks we face for the Power of Work is choosing participants to feature. It’s difficult because we have thousands of incredible stories to choose from each year. Every person’s story is unique and personal – they’re the stories of individuals whose determination and hard work has helped them to overcome the barriers they were facing. The two or three individuals we choose represent those thousands.

Nicole

This year we will tell the stories of Nicole and Jennifer. You’ll find out much more about them in the near future.

The Power of Work is also a story about the dedicated community of supporters who have chosen to help our organization – without whom our services and programs would never be as successful as they now are.

Jennifer

We hope to see you at this year’s event. Follow us for updates on our featured participants and recaps on the event in the next few weeks.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to eliminate barriers to work and independence. Together, we will continue to make sure that our participants are able to experience the power of work.
