Stock your kitchen with affordable Goodwill electronics finds

Looking for a “fancy” kitchen appliance/electronic like these: Food processors, rice cookers, bread makers and espresso makers? If these sound like something you might want but can’t afford, then maybe it’s time to start poking around Goodwill.

That black chrome Cuisinart Food Processor on the right of this image costs nearly $200 new, but we found it at a store for only $14.99. That’s over 90% off!

We often see versions of these at Goodwill stores from a wide range of brand-name makers. If you’re looking for a stainless steel version it might take longer to find, but you’ll likely find it eventually. Visiting more Goodwill stores on a single day or making a weekly or bi-weekly trip might increase your odds. Also, familiarity with more unknown brands or devices helps as well.

For example, do you know what a stovetop espresso maker is? Many people don’t, but here’s one below:

Bialetti’s stovetop espresso maker is a great find for the right person. The wrong person won’t have any interest in it.

If you’re into coffee (and especially espresso), this might be something to keep an eye out for. We’ve even seen them for under $1 at the Goodwill Outlet, and new they often sell for $20-30 or more!

How about slow cookers, bread makers and rice cookers?

This programmable Cuisinart slow cooker was found at our St. Paul Goodwill for $9.99, but retails for $50-60 new

The slow cooker find above sold at our St. Paul Goodwill store, but you’ll find this type of kitchen electronic at many stores around the Twin Cities and Minnesota. At $9.99 that particular slow cooker is discounted 80% or more from its retail price.

This Cuisinart convection bread maker retails for around $100 new, but sold for $14.99 at one of our Goodwill stores.

It’s amazing how many of these items you can find for the price of just one of them new! If you’re inspired to find some kitchen items, we wish you luck.
