If you’re like us, you’re obsessed with the Netflix show Stranger Things. Halloween is just around the corner and we’d like to suggest some costume ideas for this year:

Maybe you’re Lucas, with that amazing camo bandana he wears… Maybe you’d rather be Eleven, in which case you’d have two different choices:
Eleven Version 1:
Easy costume version: Find a hospital gown (or even some patterned, baggy, scrubs if you can’t find a gown). For the headgear you’ll need some white Christmas lights (they don’t have to work) and some brown rope. You could also purchase a bicycle cargo net like this one. If you go with the total DIY approach, you’ll create a web using the rope to match the look. It’s up to you whether or not you choose to keep your hair for this look.

This look for Eleven was quite an evolution. You can choose the blonde wig look (we have those at Goodwill) or the no-wig look, but either way you need the following: Denim jacket, an 80s-styled one, and a peach-colored 80s, Polly Flinders frocked dress. Guess what? You can often find that type of dress (along with more modern-styles) at Goodwill.
When it comes to the rest of the main characters, there are some additional fun ideas that could work for individuals or as a group costume idea. Here’s the whole cast:
There are so many great costume ideas in here and most, if not all, can be found at a Goodwill store near you. Trucker hats and jean jackets. Handheld radios and bandanas. The Stranger Things Twitter account (@StrangerThings) helped us break down some of the accessories you might want to look for:

Here’s the list:
We’d recommend avoiding a wrist-rocket/slingshot, but if you must that would be #5 on the list!
So there are just a few ideas for costumes. Costume parties could be a fun route also. Imagine Lucas, Eleven, and the crew all walking into a party with dozens of strings of large-bulb Christmas lights strung all over!
