Your mentorship can change lives
What does it mean to be a mentor? Shawn Hitchcock put it best when he said, “A mentor empowers a person to see a possible future and believes it can be obtained.”

We meet a lot of people on our journey through life. If you’re one of the lucky ones, you have been able to connect with others who saw your greatness, even before you were able to. These people encouraged your dreams, challenged you to grow outside your comfort zone and walked along side you when life got hard; they were mentors.
Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota is always looking for volunteer mentors who want to work individually or in a group setting with our participants. As a volunteer mentor, you have the opportunity to impact the lives of individuals in four of our programs: Automotive and Construction training, Re-Entry Services and the Ramsey County Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP).
MFIP is a work-focused, state assistance program for families with minor children who are low-income. Our Re-Entry Services is designed to help individuals with criminal backgrounds integrate back into the community and workforce after incarceration. Our training programs provide industry specific preparation to jumpstart a career in one of those fields.
If you have the desire to make a positive impact on someone’s life, have at least four hours per month of time to share and want to gain a unique experience preparing people for work and independence, please reach out to a mentoring coordinator below for more information and to schedule a Volunteer Mentor Intake!
