TOGETHER, WE'RE STILL PREPARING PEOPLE FOR WORK.
GET SUPPORT AND RESOURCES!

People are working together to uplift others, and so are we. Our mission is to eliminate barriers to work and independence has become even more critical, as many people now face additional barriers to employment and need our support.

“I’ve gained experience in the workplace and I got experience working with people I don’t know.”

“GESMN is going to help you and push you. Sometimes you need that push that believes in you more than you believe in yourself. I couldn’t ask for a better program than Goodwill.”

“Find a job that works for you and your skills and that you truly want to have until retirement. Don’t give up on doing what you love to do.”

“There are so many people that are willing to help. I didn’t know who to turn to, but there are so many great resources. Including Goodwill!”

Our work in connecting people to jobs every day is still happening and we’re seeing successes:

  • We transitioned many services to digital formats and are currently serving over 1,500 people.
  • Some of the people we serve need support in scanning applications and using digital tools. We just helped a woman access the energy assistance program to reduce her bills.
  • Many essential businesses still need trained staff. A woman we serve just landed a new job at Wells Fargo and we helped her look her best with gift cards to pick out new work clothing.

  • With over 380,000 Minnesotans unemployed, people want to work. One woman we serve leaves her house two hours early to catch the bus to work, “As long as the bus can get me there, I will be there. I want to work as long as I can.”

  • Our Work Incentives Connection team is celebrating a woman who is now independent of government benefits – she's working FT as a home health aide and making $16/hour.

If you or a loved one needs support, we have job training programs and career navigators to help open doors for you.  Start here.

You can help keep our services available to those who face unemployment by making a financial donation. If you enjoy shopping our stores, we need you now more than ever. Thanks for supporting our work to lift up our neighbors who need our help now!
