Our workforce development programs provide employers with comprehensive hiring and retention services, as well as employees who are well trained and dependable.

Proven employment-readiness and skills training programs ensure that our participants are ready for work before we assist them in finding a job.

In addition to employment training, we prepare our participants with basic work skills and job expectations like:

  • Attendance
  • Co-worker interactions
  • Customer service
  • Punctuality
  • Responsibility

Additionally, we assess their needs and work with applicants to remove common barriers to work like child care or transportation. Our candidates come prepared to be successful in their employment!

We offer job training, placement assistance and workforce development programs to help everyone experience the power of work. Like you, we believe everyone has a right to participate in the work force.

Who to refer

Many people think Goodwill-Easter Seals only helps people with disabilities. Although it's true that many of the individuals we serve have needs that present barriers to work, our service group is much broader. If your client meets any of the criteria below, we may be able to provide services toward a path to independence:

  • A physical, mental or emotional disorder that keeps him or her from maintaining employment
  • Unable to find or keep a job due to a learning disability: dyslexia or ADD/ADHD
  • Recovering from addiction to drugs or alcohol
  • Receiving Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) support or other public assistance
  • Recently laid off from work, is a dislocated worker or is currently unemployed or under-employed
  • Has any barrier to employment, wants to improve his or her income potential and is able to go through a training program.
  • Is a father under 35 years old who does not have custody of his children, but wants to support them and be involved in their lives
  • Does not speak English or speaks limited English
  • Is rehabilitating from a life-changing illness or accident that impacts the ability to work
  • Was recently released from prison
