Transitional Employment

Transitional Employment offers individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment the opportunity to experience the power of work. Individuals learn through hands-on paid work experience at employer partner sites.

This is a fee-based program in collaboration with our referral partners. Services include:

  • On-the-Job Evaluation (OJE): a short-term assessment at a worksite to identify and solve barriers to employment, explore goals, and identify next steps needed for employment.
  • Employee Development Services (EDS): hands on training to build and practice fundamental work skills, develop career goals, and prepare for job search.
  • Informational Interviews and Job Shadow: individuals can explore employment interests by talking with employees and employers in specific occupations. Job Shadows include a tour and observation of the work in practice.
  • Job Seeking Skills Training: includes employer research and job fit, resumes and the application process, and interview skills.
  • Work-Based Learning for Transition Aged Youth: on-the-job learning and practice of fundamental work skills. Youth receive ongoing performance feedback as well as support to manage workplace expectations.
