Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota (GESMN) was pleased to once again partner with the Twin Cities Marathon for its 40th anniversary race weekend. Goodwill trucks followed behind 9,000 marathon entrants and 11,000 ten-mile racers as they journeyed from downtown Minneapolis to the Capitol in St. Paul.  In total, 2,349 pounds of clothing were collected for reuse instead of filling Minnesota’s landfills.

While runners were seeing the results of their hard work and training, Goodwill’s work was just beginning. As the runners left behind their layers from a chilly autumn morning, Goodwill trucks collected long sleeve tees, warm up pants, sweatshirts, hats, gloves and jackets left behind. These donations join the 75 million items Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota processed annually to provide funding for services that connect people in our community to jobs.
