VIP Rewards FAQs

Q. How do I join Goodwill VIP? Can I join at a store?

A. Click the 'Become a VIP' button at the top of the page and sign up before bringing your items to the register to checkout. Goodwill store associates cannot process Goodwill VIP enrollment at the register.

Q. I was a VIP before, do I need to enroll?

A. YES.  All previous Goodwill VIPs need to re-enroll to access new features and enroll in our system to start earning points on purchases. 

Q. I don't have a smartphone, can I still join?

A. YES! As long as you have a device with a phone number capable of receiving text messages, you can become a Goodwill VIP rewards member. 

Q. How many points do I earn and what's their dollar value?

A. One dollar equals one rewards point. Once you earn 33 points, you will receive $3 off your purchase. Points can only be redeemed in $3 increments (e.g., 33 points = $3, 66 points = $6). Partial redemptions like 44 points for $4 aren’t available.

Q. Do rewards expire?

A. No – you earn them, you keep them! Best of all, purchases at your neighborhood Goodwill support our job training programs for people in the community. For example, $100 covers transportation for someone we serve to attend job training and $150 provides work boots for someone starting a new job after graduating from our construction training.

Q. What happens if I exchange an item – how does that affect my points?

A. If a VIP member returns or exchanges purchased items, the points earned by those items will be deducted from the member's point total. Please see full terms and conditions for details.

Q. Where can I use my Goodwill VIP Rewards?

A. Goodwill VIP rewards are valid only at participating Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota retail locations. Points cannot be redeemed at Goodwill Outlets, Wholesale or shopgoodwill.com.

Q. How does a cashier know I’m a VIP? 

A. When you checkout, tell the cashier you are a Goodwill VIP and provide your cell phone number to earn points on your purchase, redeem a promotion and/or activate your rewards. Always identify yourself as a VIP Rewards loyalty member at the time of purchase to ensure applicable points from your purchase are applied to your VIP Rewards account; points and/or rewards cannot be applied retroactively if membership is not identified at the time of purchase.

Q. When can I use my rewards?

A. Rewards earned in a transaction are applied to future transactions. Rewards cannot be applied towards sales tax or given as cash back.

Q. I don't see my points, where are they? 

A. Please allow approximately 72 hours for points to be credited to your account after a purchase or interaction. 

Q. How do I manage my account? 

A. Every Goodwill VIP has access to a personal webpage to check points balance, see rewards summaries and update your account information. Click here to access your account.

Q. Why can't I log in?

If you are not receiving your single-use sign in code via text message:

  • Try logging in to your account using your email. If you are not receiving emails, follow the steps in the ‘I’m not receiving emails’ below. 

If you are not receiving your single-use sign in code via email:

  • Try logging in to your account using your mobile number. If you are not receiving texts, follow the steps in the ‘I’m not receiving texts’ below. 

Q. Why am I not receiving emails?  

  • Double check your spam, junk or other email folders.

  • Confirm your email address is correct. To do this, log in to your account by entering your mobile number, click ‘Manage Profile’ and review your email address. If your email address is incorrect, please follow the steps in the ‘How do I change my email?’  below.

Q. Why am I not receiving my single-use sign-in code text?

  • First, try re-opting in by texting Text STOP to 6124454866. You will receive a text confirming you have opted out. Next, text START to 6124454866. You will receive a text confirming you have opted in. Try to log in to your account using your mobile number.

  • Second, for Android users, if there’s an exclamation point error next to your text message, this is a mobile plan/phone setting issue and you’ll need contact your cell phone carrier.

  • Third, make sure you have good network connection and that your cell phone isn’t on “roaming” mode.

Q. Why am I not receiving VIP rewards promotional texts?

  • First, try re-opting in by texting STOP to 757575. You will receive a text confirming you have opted out. Next, text JOINGOODWILLMN to 757575. You will receive a verification text to confirm your phone number.

  • Second, for Android users, if there’s an exclamation point error next to your text message, this is a mobile plan/phone setting issue and you’ll need contact your cell phone carrier.

  • Third, make sure you have good network connection and that your cell phone isn’t on “roaming” mode.

Q. How do I change my email?

​​Visit the contact us page, click 'VIP Sales & Discounts' and ask us to change your email. Please include your correct email address in the email address and confirm email address fields.

Q. What about my privacy?

A. GESMN will never sell, trade or share information with any other organization. Goodwill VIPs may access support by visiting the contact us page and clicking ‘VIP Sales & Discounts’  or by asking a store associate.
