May is an exciting time at Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota and I want to share ways to connect with our organization. Goodwill Week is May 5 – 11 and shines a light on our mission, alongside 160 other local Goodwill affiliates in the U.S., Canada and 13 countries. Goodwill Week highlights our history of helping Minnesotans find meaningful careers to support their families since 1919.

A Message from Dr. Michael Wirth-Davis, President and CEO of Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota

I invite you to connect with us as we celebrate our mission in May:

  • We’re hosting our 10th annual career fair on May 16 in partnership with Ramsey County. Metro Transit is offering free rides to job seekers — join us and 30+ employers hiring that day.
  • It’s now even easier to access our career and training resources: simply text “JOBS” to 71492 to get started. This summer we will launch targeted mass transit ads and community outreach to find and support job seekers.
  • On May 28, our monthly MN Skills-Based Hiring Accelerator Workshop will train employers to invite more people into Minnesota’s workforce. Together with partners Urban League Twin Cities, Minneapolis Regional Chamber and St. Paul Area Chamber, we’re showing employers how to increase diversity in hiring and retention practices.

Beyond just May, we live our mission as an employer every day. “I am Goodwill” employee profiles shine a light on employees who embody our mission and bring diverse perspectives to our workplace.

Latisha joined GESMN in early March of 2020 with our Ramsey MFIP Program at the height of the pandemic.

She strengthened our services and partnership with Ramsey County, and recently moved into a management role in the FATHER Project program.

Employment is multi-faceted, and it looks different for everyone. We see you. And we are here to help people who want to enter or advance in Minnesota’s workforce, in May and every day.
