Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota's Commitment to Community

A message from President & CEO, Michael Wirth-Davis

This year is full of milestones for Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota, and I want to share behind-the-scenes information about our goals, delivering our mission and our future.

Like many of Minnesota’s nonprofits, we follow an annual strategic plan, and it includes:

1. Advancing Services & Programs.

Many of our services, like FATHER Project and its advocate Bo, are expanding into Greater Minnesota communities. We regularly recognize our valued employer partners for creating career possibilities together.

2. Building Financial Health. 

Many people know Goodwill stores, but don’t know store proceeds support nearly 20 programs for job seekers to access resources and build careers; we’ve connected traditionally overlooked jobseekers with resources since 1919 with support from our thrift operations. Here’s how.

3. Investing in People. 

Employees are our greatest asset, and we value their voices, diverse experiences and talents. We regularly seek employee feedback to strengthen our workplace culture and just won our fifth consecutive year as a Star Tribune Top 200 Workplace. Join us.

Our employees are the engine driving our work to serve over 5,500 people in the community every year. We hold community and belonging as central in delivering our mission and honor all individuals, their talents and contributions to our organization.

New Campus and Services Center

We are excited about our upcoming activities. This fall we’re scheduled to open our first-ever Campus and Services Center in St. Paul’s Energy Park neighborhood to expand our services in the community. We recently broke ground on a new Goodwill store in Waconia . We continually explore new technology to support our services and programs and other aspects of our operations. Our future looks bright.

2025 marks my 35^th year serving as President & CEO and while we have a rich history, our eye is always on the future of Minnesota’s workforce and the needs of our communities. I invite you to follow our work as we steward the community’s generous product and financial donations to fuel career possibilities for all Minnesotans who need support.
