U.S. Senators visited Goodwill-Easter Seals training facility 

U.S. Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., and U.S. Sen Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, celebrated the reauthorization of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act at our Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota auto and construction training center in St. Paul. The Aug. 11 visit allowed the senators to witness our successful and innovative partnerships with community and technical colleges.

Partners from Inver Hills Community College, Dakota County Technical College, St. Paul College, Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board, McGough Construction and the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development were all involved in the visit and spoke to the power of the Goodwill-Easter Seals career pathway model. The coalition meeting is open to the public and we encourage everyone to attend this free event. The evening will include an overview of the new law passed during the 2014 legislative session, a celebration of the legislators who helped make it happen, a preview of issues to be tackled during the 2015 legislative session, and of course, food!

Career navigation expands to DCTC
Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota is expanding our career navigation services to Dakota County Technical College. Students who attend DCTC's Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair program will receive individualized services through Goodwill-Easter Seals, along with transferrable credits in automotive mechanics and maintenance.
